Daniel Jolliff Simi Church of Christ Pulpit Minster

Daniel Jolliff - Pulpit Minster

Daniel was born in Tokyo, Japan March 15, 1962. His parents were missionaries there and he spent the first nine years of his life growing up as a missionary kid. He spent the next nine years of his life growing up in Fresno, CA and was very active in the Church as a teenager. He preached his first sermon when he was fifteen and he initiated and became the 1st president of the Bible Club at Clovis High School

He attended Pepperdine University where he received his B.A. in Communications 1984 and an M.S. in Ministry which he completed in 1997. He also got married to Alison in 1984 and in 1988 went to Kenya to do ten years of mission work. Upon his return to the States, Daniel completed an M-Div. at Harding Graduate School of Religion in Memphis, TN. He then moved back to Southern California and is currently pursuing a Ph. D. in Missionlogy at Fuller Theological Seminary. He was the preacher for the Santa Paula Church of Christ from September of 2000-2007 and as of October 2007, he is the preaching minister here at Simi Church of Christ.

Joe Tipps - Associate Minister & Director of Youth Programs

Joe Tipps was born in Yuba City, California. At age ten, his family moved to Grass Valley where Joe learned to love youth and family ministry while studying under Eli Hooper. In 2004, he enrolled in the Adventures in Missions (AIM) program based out of Lubbock Texas. After eight months of intensive biblical and practical training, Joe spent 14 months in Bozeman, Montana with. five other teammates doing youth and college ministry. Upon graduating from the AIM program in 2004 he helped his friend and mentor, Eli Hooper, start. a college ministry. After two years, Joe decided to make the leap into full time ministries by attending the Sunset International Bible institute where he earned a Bachelors in Religious Studies. While attending college. he also worked as a counselor for the AIM program.
In 2007 Joe was hired by the Sudan Texas Church of Christ to reorganize, develop,. and maintain an active, vibrant, and spiritually aware youth program.
In 2009, he came to the Simi Church of Christ as associate minister/youth minister. Joe Tipps and his wife Natalie are passionate for family-based youth ministries. This means that the family and not the youth minister is the standard by which all activities, lessons, and programs are based on.

Natlalie Tipps - Simi Church of Christ Director of Children's Programs

Natalie Tipps - Director of Children’s Programs

Natalie Tipps was born and raised in Simi Valley, California. She grew up attending the Simi Church of Christ and was involved in Leadership Training for Christ and the youth group. She graduated from Royal High School and then attended Moorpark College where she earned an AA degree in Liberal Arts and Science. While in college Natalie worked as a nanny and was also very much involved with the youth and children at the Simi Church. She taught Sunday classes for different elementary ages and helped with Vacation Bible School.

In 2006, Natalie traveled with nine other members of the Simi Church on a missionary trip to Chennai, India. Because of this experience she gained a heart for mission work. In August of 2006 she enrolled in the Adventures in Missions (AIM) program where she received eight months of biblical and practical training. As a part of her AIM program Natalie spent 14 months of missionary field time in Juneau, Alaska working with a Church of Christ team. She taught classes for children, held a Mother's Day-Out program, and coordinated Vacation Bible School.

She met her husband, Joe Tipps, through the AIM program and they married in 2008. Joe became the Youth Minister at Sudan Church of Christ and Natalie worked alongside him while also working as a teacher at a preschool. In 2009, Joe and Natalie moved to Simi Valley where Joe became the Associate Minister of the Simi Church of Christ and Natalie worked part-time as a nanny. In 2010, Natalie stepped in to help with the Children's Ministry.

Natalie is excited about being involved at her home congregation in a position that she feels God has called her to.
